Geocaching in Freiamt
Armed with a GPS device and a hiking map of Freiamt, take yourself off for some fun in the outdoors on a modern‑day treasure hunt. Geocaches are hidden or placed by cachers for cachers. As part of the community you get access to the coordinates and can set off on your quest, letting yourself be guided from task to task. And when you get the right combination, you find the treasure. Some interesting caches await you, from easy to challenging to tricky: here, everyone gets to find what they're looking for!
Kaiserstuhl Natural Garden

The volcanic rock of the Kaiserstuhl has the sunniest and warmest climate of all of the German wine‑growing areas, which sustains a Mediterranean way of life and flora and fauna rarely found elsewhere. Species exist here that are the precious remnants of a long‑forgotten, warmer time, such as bee‑eaters, green lizards and exotic‑looking orchids. Enjoy panoramic views from the vineyards and idyllic little towns such as Burkheim or the beautiful old town of Endingen, or discover the natural treasures of this special region on hikes and cycle rides.
Vogtsbauernhöfe Open Air Museum in Gutach

The Black Forest Open Air Museum Vogtsbauernhof has Black Forest farms, with milling, sawing, barns and rooms showing how people lived and worked over the last 400 years in the region. The museum has attractions specially for children, such as the workshop where you can make a bird whistle or a water wheel, real straw beds to try out in the Falkenhof farm, and much more.
